Balkans | Winter has returned to the Balkans

After snow fell in the Balkans, many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo turned white.

Since last night, snowfall has been effective in the Balkans, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo. Snow that fell shortly after the arrival of spring disrupted transportation. Snowfall, which was in force in April in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, caused difficulties for drivers who, with the arrival of spring, returned to summer tires.

Snow thickness exceeded 30 cm

While the thickness of snow in Kosovo reached 30 centimeters in some areas, meteorologists warned of continued rains in the coming days. In Montenegro, snow has been effective in the northern regions of the country. In a statement issued by the Hydrometeorological and Seismological Department of Montenegro, it was recorded that the snow thickness reached 32 cm in the northeastern city of Ruzaje.

The roads are closed to traffic

More than 20 centimeters of snow fell at night in the Serbian capital, Belgrade. Snow storms occurred in the city of Zlatibor in the western part of the country and in the Kopaonik mountain range in the central part. In Croatia, some roads were closed to traffic due to strong winds.
